Plant of the Month

CORNUS ALBA
"Red-Twig Dogwood"

Full sun/light shade
Thrives in damp ground

One of winter's highlights in the garden, the Red-Twig Dogwood brings a colorful accent with its smooth, red branches.  It also flowers in late spring and summer, leaving pea-sized fruit.

Cultivars include the usual green-leafed version, as well as gray-green ('Elegantissima'), red ('Sibirica') and gold-variegated ('Spaethii') leaves.
